From the Farm Gate to National Recognition

In 2025, DeBranch Farmers Ltd strengthened its place as a practical force in Nigeria’s agricultural transformation. What began as hands-on work with smallholder farmers continued to grow into national recognition, policy engagement, and visible impact across the rice value chain.

At its core, DeBranch remained focused on one clear goal: helping farmers produce better, earn more, and farm in ways that protect the future.

Working Directly With Farmers

Throughout the year, DeBranch worked closely with smallholder farmers, especially in rural communities across Kaduna State. Farmers received training on soil health, composting, water use, and climate-smart farming practices suited to their local environment.

Rather than pushing costly solutions, the focus was on practical knowledge farmers could use immediately. This approach helped improve yields, strengthen soil quality, and reduce long-term production risks.

Farming With the Future in Mind

Climate change continues to shape how food is produced, and DeBranch responded by promoting sustainable and climate-smart practices. Farmers were supported to adopt natural soil improvement methods, reduce over-dependence on synthetic inputs, and better manage water and land.

Adding Value Through Local Processing

A major part of DeBranch’s impact in 2025 came through its rice milling operations. The milling facility provided farmers with access to reliable processing, reducing post-harvest losses and improving the quality of locally produced rice.

National Award and Government Recognition

In 2025, DeBranch Farmers Ltd received an Award of Excellence from the Federal Government of Nigeria during the Agricultural National Council meeting, in recognition of its contribution to food security, farmer empowerment, and sustainable agricultural development.

High-Level Government Visit

During the Agricultural National Council activities, DeBranch hosted a high-level delegation that included:
– The Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security
– The Honourable Minister of State for Agriculture
– The Permanent Secretary, Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security
– Commissioners of Agriculture from all 36 States of the Federation

The visit provided national and sub-national leaders the opportunity to see firsthand DeBranch’s rice milling operations, quality standards, and integration with smallholder farmers.
